Antique Victorian scarf or tie pin. Made in France by Louis Wiese, circa 1890. Unisex - suitable for a man or woman.

Measurements: Weight is 5.1 grams. A circular gold border contains an openwork swirl of overlapping foliage, very 3-dimentional and sculptural. A flower forms the center.

Understated elegance with fabulous quality workmanship for which Louis and his father Jules Wiese were so well-known. Versatile: can be worn to hold your scarf, cravat or tie or simply to accent a jacket / lapel.

Equally suitable for a man or woman. Marks and Metal: Engraved mark for Louis Wiese, circa 1890 on the back. Eagle head mark for French 18k gold as well as maker's mark punch/lozenge, on the pin. Condition: Good with negligible wear commensurate with age.
